The story behind our badge

Creating a brand new football club comes with a long to-do list – but one of the most exciting parts is designing the club badge.

When it came to ours, we wanted it to reflect who we are and the journey we’ve been on.

A big thanks you to our friends at Clubb Creative for helping us to refine our final design.

The wolf

After plenty of research (and a few hours on Google), we chose the wolf as the main symbol on our badge – and it couldn’t feel more fitting.

The wolf stands for loyalty, family, instinct, freedom, and strength – all values that are important to us as a team. But it means even more than that. Wolves are fearless and resilient, which makes them powerful symbols of courage and determination, especially when facing challenges.

The lone wolf, in particular, represents independence, self-belief, and the confidence to do things differently. It’s a symbol of personal strength and growth –  just like the path we’ve taken to build this club from the ground up.

The compass

We also included a compass in our crest because it represents direction, purpose, and the journey we’re on as a club. It reminds us to stay true to what we believe in, no matter what challenges come our way. The compass also stands for exploration and progress – having the courage to try something new and the focus to keep moving forward. For us, it’s not just about finding our way – it’s about knowing who we are as we do it.

The river

Our club is based in the Stour Valley, on the Suffolk-Essex border, with players from nearby towns and villages across Suffolk and North Essex. The River Stour is an important part of our identity, so we made sure it was represented in our badge too – grounding us in the place we call home.
